FERC Awards LNG Study to ioMosaic Corporation
November 15, 2004. Salem, New Hampshire: The Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) has retained ioMosaic to assist in evaluating its
cryogenic design review process and inspection program that is used to assess
potential projects and ensure the safety and reliability of each jurisdictional
LNG import terminal and peak shaving facility.
ioMosaic's scope of work includes a comprehensive evaluation of the engineering
and safety information required of applicants under Title18 (Code of Federal
Regulations Part 380.12, Resource Report 13) and the criteria through which
this information is analyzed by FERC to determine safe and reliable operations.
Additionally, the study will focus on a wide range of issues that can impact
safety such as the adequacy of company operating and maintenance practices, the
adequacy of intervals related to construction and operational inspections, and
an assessment of international regulations and standards that may contribute
towards enhancing safety and reliability.
“FERC has consistently displayed leadership in ensuring application of the
highest safety standards in the LNG industry," said Mr. Henry Ozog, General
Partner at ioMosaic. “We look forward to discussing our recommendations and
conclusions with them on how to extract the maximum safety benefits from their
LNG cryogenic design filing/review requirements and inspection program.”
